Gîtes -Times They are A Changing

I was recently asked my opinion on the gîte market in France. I replied that I stood firmly in the middle ground, between those who thought the gîte market was dead – plainly unrealistic given that more people holiday in France than in any other country in the world – and those who thought they could buy a run down cottage in rural France and let it for holidays for a third of the year – mistakenly expecting an income as a result.
